Stylish gown for winter wedding
The Clients Dream…
It was to be a Christmas dress for Anne-Marie and she was marrying from her family’s oak-beamed home. She wanted a simple dress so she could have fun at the Burn Dance reception but to cater for the cold weather during the day.
- Christmas wedding
- Simple dress to allow her to have fun at the barn dance
- With a coat to accommodate the season
The Process…
I created an empire line dress in ivory and gold silk damask with the skirt in gold Duchess satin. For the cooler day temperature, Anne-Marie wore an overcoat to compliment the style of dress – empire line with a nero collar and sleeves with turned up cuffs. The skirt of the coat was cut away (to slightly reveal the dress), finishing with a full-length train. The entire coat was edged with the same Duchess satin and looked incredibly stylish.
The bridesmaids were in red and gold – warm and atmospheric, very ‘Christmassy’! They were created using red gold shot velvet and the small bridesmaid had a gold-starred tulle full skirt.
